ACCESS Resource Provider Communication - August 17, 2022

I am sending this on behalf of the ACCESS Track 3/CONECT/Operations team. For the short term, we are going to use the sp-forum and sp-software email lists to communicate with you about important transition information you’ll need to successfully integrate into the ACCESS ecosystem. This email includes important information and actions. Please forward this message to any resource provider (RP) staff that may not be on these email lists but need to know this information. Please note that in ACCESS, we will use the term “resource provider” (RP) instead of “service provider.” We plan to send out a weekly communication with pertinent information, so please be on the lookout for those weekly emails!

Request for updated contact information

We will be reaching out over email to gather contact information for an ACCESS technical integration coordinator. This individual will coordinate with ACCESS about all technical integration activities, post resource outage information, maintain resource descriptions in RDR, and identify your user support specialists. Please respond to this email so that we can make progress with the ACCESS integration process.

Reminder on Pending XSEDE Allocation Requests

In order to support the transition to ACCESS, XSEDE Allocations will be processing all pending non-XRAC actions (new, renewal, supplemental, transfer, extension) currently in the review process by Friday, August 19.

All Resource Providers who currently have outstanding review assignments within the XRAS software suite are asked to please enter a review for all assigned actions prior to Friday. Questions, comments, or concerns can be sent to help@xsede.org

Reminder on Globus Endpoints

As previously announced, the new ACCESS IAM system works with Globus Connect Server version 5.4, but not with older versions of Globus Connect or GridFTP. If you need your Globus endpoint to accept ACCESS IDs to support ACCESS allocations on your system, you’ll need to make sure your Globus endpoint is using version 5.4 of Globus Connect Server. The high-level explanation is available in the RP integration roadmap provided by CONECT. The roadmap links to CONECT’s ACCESS Globus Connect Server version 5.4 Install Guide. If you are already using Globus Connect Server version 5.4, you may either add the new ACCESS configuration to an existing endpoint (without changing the XSEDE configuration) or change the existing XSEDE configuration to use the new ACCESS IAM system. Questions, comments, or concerns can be sent to help@xsede.org, and please include the subject “Help with ACCESS roadmap task Deploy Globus Endpoint.” Or, visit the RP-ACCESS #integration-roadmaps channel on CONECT’s RP-ACCESS Slack.

Join the ACCESS Resource Provider Slack Space!
